What services do you offer?
We offer Medical Nutrition Therapy, sometimes just called “Nutrition Therapy”, for the treatment of disordered eating and eating disorders. Medical Nutrition Therapy is a skill unique to the training that Registered Dietitian Nutritionist’s receive. It includes a combination of evidence-based intervention, motivational interviewing, and nutrition education. Though the recommendations are evidence-based, they are also individualized, making sure the goals are client-driven.
Which populations do you see?
We have experience treating all types of eating disorders, including (but not limited to): anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), atypical anorexia, and others. Additionally, we have the knowledge and experience to treat people of all ages, genders, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, medical complexity, race, ethnicity, and other groups.
Do you accept insurance?
We are currently in the process of getting credentialed with insurance panels. As of right now, we are private pay only and offer superbills that can be submitted to insurances for potential reimbursement. We will update this page frequently as we hear back from different insurance companies.
How do I know if I have an eating disorder?
There are many behaviors that are consistent with disordered eating and eating disorders. Most people with eating disorders have at least a couple of behaviors/symptoms. Since eating disorders are very complex, they can be difficult to detect and diagnose. However, if food makes you nervous for any reason, and it heavily impacts your day, you may be struggling with disordered eating.
What is the role of a dietitian in eating disorder treatment?
Dietitians are very important in the treatment of disordered eating and eating disorders. They work closely with therapists and physicians to help improve clients’ relationships with food. Additionally, dietitians work with their clients to improve consistency and variety of food intake, emotions and anxieties related to food, relationships with exercise, and body-image.
